React Native error message persists when navigating away from the page and the returning

0

I allow an user to register via firebase in react native. I am using a mobx store to handle the action, if a user (email) already exists an error message is returned:

Error: The email address is already in use by another account.

the error message is displayed by:

this.props.registerStore.error == true ? <Text>Error: this.props.registerStore.message</Text> : null

If I navigate away from the page and then return the error message still displays, how can I best overcome this. My code for the action is below:

@observable error = false;
@observable message = '';
@observable isLoading = false;
@observable email ='';
@observable password ='';

@action
async registerUser(email, password)
this.isLoading = true;
try
await firebase.auth()
.createUserAndRetrieveDataWithEmailAndPassword(email, password)
.then(user =>
this.props.navigation.navigate('ParkScreen')
this.isLoading = false;
)
.catch(error =>
console.log(error);
this.error = true;
this.message = error.message;
this.isLoading = false;
)
catch (e)
console.log('ERROR', e);
this.isLoading = false;

Thanks
