Passing Icommand parameters from the ViewModel

0

So I want to pass some Icommand parameters. I understand fully how this can be done from XAML using CommandParameter. However, is there a way to also set the parameter from the ViewModel?

I appreciate this isn't a very MVVM approach, but forget that for now.

To give an ideal of what I mean I've included some of my code.

ViewModel section:

public HandHeldButtonClickCommand SendButtonCommand get; set;

SendButtonCommand = new ButtonClickCommand(SendCmd(x)); // This is wrong but the idea is to set the command to be delegated and pass it the parameter x

private void SendCmd(int sendValue)

// Do stuff here with sendValue

Then for the ICommand:

public class ButtonClickCommand : ICommand

public event EventHandler CanExecuteChanged;
private Action<object> execute;

public ButtonClickCommand(Action<object> execute)

this.execute = execute;

public bool CanExecute(object parameter)

//throw new NotImplementedException();
return true;

public void Execute(object parameter)

execute(parameter);

Any help would be great. The main thing is that I want to learn if I can set a command parameter/argument from the viewModel code. Whether it's a good idea or not is another thing! :)
