has $isolated been removed from MongoDB 4.0 or current pymongo version?
I have been using $isolated
to write lock during deleting multiple docs from a collection in MongoDB 3.4 using pymongo.
But since I upgraded to MongoDb 4.0 , I get below error :
pymongo.errors.WriteError: unknown top level operator: $isolated
and I and using below pymongo query :
items = db[colname].remove("date":"$lt":todaydatevariable,"$isolated": 1)
Is there any alternative to $isolated
I can use for write concern?
mongodb pymongo

Pretty sure it was actually gone from MongoDB 3.6, though I can't seem to find a reference other than the documentation disappears at that version release.$isolated
was really a "brute force" method of forcing write locks and really should not have been used except in extreme cases. If you're using MongoDB 4.0 then you have either MMAPv2 or WiredTiger storage, and the usage more or less becomes irrelevant. So you probably should have removed things like this from code some time ago really. You don't need it.
