Yeah, shit loads. There's usually not really a huge difference between rated R & NC-17 until you get into the exploitation genre & then it's usually just torture porn or gross out humor.

I don't know man. NC-17 movies aren't made very often, and when they do, get very small distributions. These aren't the types of movies most people usually just stumble upon.

Sure, since I used to seek them out; they were usually on channels like Showtime, Cinnemax, or HBO, late night or after dark, although I spotted a few outside it; but, again, it's usually because I sought them out, when I was younger and just a bit before the internet, but, some afterwards too. I can remember a movie series called Emmanuel that usually carried that rating; but, currently, I've been on a long drought away from movies until I can fix my financial issues to sooth my stress levels.

NC-17 is a movie rating in the US. Like how there's G, PG, PG-13, and R. Well, NC-17 is when a movie is so graphic that it surpasses R.

The reason you're not familiar with this is because the vast majority of mainstream theaters refuse to air NC-17 movies, they don't want to be associated with movies that graphic. They're usually only shown at film festivals, or go straight to home video/streaming.

Yes, Henry and June (1990) in the theater located near my college back in the day. The movie is about two early 20th century authors, Henry Miller and Anaïs Nin and their sexually charged relationship. There was a lot of "Skinamax" humping in it.

You've probably seen the R rated cuts of those movies. When a movie is rated NC-17, the studios most often tone them down to get an R rating. For example, Kill Bill Vol. 1 was originally rated NC-17 due to the fight against the Crazy 88, so they toned it down by making it black and white. Most of the NC-17 cuts for those movies aren't even available to the public.

It's just too hard for studios to profit off of them. For most studios, it's much more profitable to just tone down the movie and settle for an R.

Yes.

The only reason a movies is a given an NC-17 rating is for extreme violence, language, or nudity. Most times this doesn't subtract from the quality of the film.

The only reason a movies is a given an NC-17 rating is for extreme violence, language, or nudity. Most times this doesn't subtract from the quality of the film.

Yeah, I have.

The first evil dead movie, nah just kidding. I haven't even seen an "NC-17" movie and i don't plan on watching those movies. Cause i already know that rating tells me the movie has a lot of sex scenes with naked girls.
