Magik should have ways of coping with Nihilus' drain. Can't say Nihilus has ways of coping with some of the haxx Magik has.

Nihilus' drain isn't quite planetary. It's been confirmed he actually bombs/destroys civilizations and worlds first with his fleet, then drains them of their life force. I also question how effectively he could use it in-combat.

Not that I don't think Nihilus can win under the right circumstances; he can. Particularly with his speed advantage. But there's just a lot of ways for Rasputin to deal with him.

Magik is too haxed

This is a girl who teleports bullets back at the person who shot at her, and has casually teleported out of the way of Thor's hammer when he threw it at her from a distance of about 20 feet. Before Darth Nihilus finishes calling force lightning, in that small fraction of a second, Magik will have two stepping disks up to direct it right back at him. And she won't even have to strain to do it.

Yes, he can drain a planet, but he can't drain someone in the blink on an eye, and that is about how long he is going to have before he finds himself in the heart of a nearby star if he starts to drain her. Even if he weakens her mutant power, this is a girl who teleports between galaxies on a whim to visit her best friend. He won't be able to drain her fast enough to prevent her from sending him someplace fatal.

Magik isn't a speedster in the classic sense, but she has always been scary fast with those stepping disks of hers, and she uses them in combat, both offensively and defensively, all the time. Darth Nihilus simply isn't fast enough to hurt her badly enough to keep her from killing him.
