In Mapkit, is there a way to make the included placemarks selectable?

0

I have an app where I want people to pick a location and I load notations from a list places "around" the lat/lon from the yelp API. I noticed that sometimes the Apple map has a location listed that wasn’t in the api. I know that I would have to write some kind of code to handle the touches, but is there a way to make those map locations selectable?

For example: In the screenshot “Bowlmor Lanes” in purple was the place I was looking for and even though yelp didn't return the place it did show up on the Mapkit map. But tapping on it didn't appear to select it, or if tapping did something I don't know how to process it. Is there a way to activate places of interest like this one so that when a user taps I can perform some action on the selected placemark?
