Tyler Hoechlin will reprise his role on 'The Flash,' 'Supergirl' and 'Arrow,' while the role of Lois Lane has yet to be cast.

The CW's annual Arrow-verse crossover just got a bit bigger.

Tyler Hoechlin will reprise his role as Superman, with producers also now casting the iconic role of Lois Lane for the three-night, three-show crossover set for December.

“We couldn’t be more excited to introduce Lois Lane to the Arrowverse. This dogged, determined and brave reporter will make for a strong partner to Superman and amazing addition to our universe of DC characters,” Supergirl exec producers Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner said in a statement announcing the news Wednesday.

Hoechlin will appear in all three episodes of the crossover, which stars Sunday, Dec. 9 with The Flash at 8 p.m., followed by Arrow on Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. and concluding Dec. 11 at the same time with Supergirl.

Hoechlin's Man of Steel and Lois Lane will appear in the crossover alongside Ruby Rose as lesbian superhero Batwoman.

Anyway, curious to see who they are going to cast as Lois. Could this lead to a Superman show some time in the future? Although I suppose this will be difficult to happen with WoDC.

It's their selling point. Of course they'll use it.

Sounds cool. I've wanted to see CW Superman interact with Flash and Green Arrow for a longtime now.

This is the best thing I've ever seen.

I hate to be negative, but one thing I am disheartened by is that Black Lightning will not be part of this year's crossover. I think he's a great character, and I would love to see him interact with Green Arrow, The Flash, and all the other CW heroes.

@mrmonster: Bit too early for him. I like he's doing his own thing. Maybe next year.

I respectfully disagree. I agree that a character needs to have at least some time on his own before becoming part of something bigger, but he's already had an entire season with just himself, I think he's been around for more than long enough to be involved in some kind of crossover.

But like you said, there's always next year.

Looks like the Legends won't be in it either. I wonder if they're trying to focus just on the "CW Trinity" ?

That one I actually support. I've just grown tired of the Legends. Part of me wants them to just disband the team and have them return to their roles on Arrow and Flash.

While I'm not the biggest Arrowverse fan, I really liked Tyler as Supes. CW should try a Superman series with him. No Smallville stuff. And while they're at it, give us a Justice League miniseries or something. Just show us Batman already.

I guess they are just jumping to conclusions with these crossovers but i digress.

After the way they treated him in the Supergirl season finale, I am willing to bet that Batwoman takes him down with some kryptonite.

Not only will they disrespect Batman but also Superman. How nice.

I like to think this this means that Batwoman will be taking place in Supergirl's universe rather than Arrow and Flash's. Kate isn't as tied to Bruce as the rest of the Batfamily, but he does still serve a big role in her inspiration to be Batwoman. If she's in Arrow/Flash's universe, she doesn't really have much of a reason for the Bat-theme. Plus having Batman exist on Supergirl's earth means he and Superman get to have their World's Finest dynamic, even if he doesn't actually appear on-screen. Their friendship was always one of my favorite parts of the comics.

In some fairness, Batwoman's lesbianism is actually a big part of her character and her backstory, given it was the reason she was kicked out of the army. I definitely agree that it's an awkward way of addressing her, but it's not as bad as say "bisexual clown villain Harley Quinn" or the like, where their sexuality has very little to do with how they are or how they became who they are (thus why Oliver is not addressed as "Heterosexual male superhero Green Arrow").

Y'know some people actually don't know Batwoman is gay, or Batwoman in general. It's for the casuals guys. Calm down.

The love replicating the fight scenes or a singular action set piece. Mostly with Supergirl.

There is also another instance of Kara breaking through a glass window which looked exactly like when Diana did it in WW trailer.
