Help getting RTL-SDR dongle working in Ubuntu 18.04 Mate with GQRX?

4

I am attempting to get a SDR setup on

Release 18.04.1 LTS (Bionic Beaver) 64-bit

Kernel Linux 4.15.0-34-generic x86_64

MATE 1.20.1

I have installed GQRX with the following..

sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:bladerf/bladerf
sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:myriadrf/drivers
sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:myriadrf/gnuradio
sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:gqrx/gqrx-sdr
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gqrx-sdr

Then I connected the RTL and checked dmesg

I launched GQRX and cannot tune any thing or see the waterfall..

I checked lsusb -t

I am attempting to get a SDR setup on

Release 18.04.1 LTS (Bionic Beaver) 64-bit

      Kernel Linux 4.15.0-34-generic x86_64

      MATE 1.20.1

I have installed GQRX with the following..

      sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:bladerf/bladerf
      sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:myriadrf/drivers
      sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:myriadrf/gnuradio
      sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:gqrx/gqrx-sdr
      sudo apt-get update
      sudo apt-get install gqrx-sdr

Then I connected the RTL and checked dmesg

      [326258.843710] rtl2832 27-0010: Realtek RTL2832 successfully attached
