Its probably a reference/nod to 2004's Spider-Man 2 Mysterio. Its not intended as disrespect, just humor. I get it, it can suck if its a character you appreciate and take more seriously, similar has happened to characters I like in movies, games, even in comics under certain different writers. Sometimes I find it funny, sometimes I just think its a waste of potential, nothing too worrying though, plus will tend to be new iterations and portrayals.

I love Mysterio so while I was disappointed since he wasn't in the game, I understand they could only include so many villains so I'm not too upset. That being said, based on the hidden scenes at the ending, we'll be getting a sequel possibly including Green Goblin and symbiotes, so Mysterio could possibly be in that as well.
